Rome, June 10 (LaPresse) – “Today, with the industry and jobs we are losing because of certain political choices such as ETS, continuing to talk about political bargaining is, in my view, very short-sighted.” This was stated by Confindustria president Emanuele Orsini on the sidelines of the Unem assembly, held today in Rome. “Today we need to talk about jobs and how to preserve them,” Orsini noted, “and how to ensure competitiveness.” “When we see that the European Commission issues guidelines and then, on the other side, we step back, I must say the truth,” Orsini said from the stage of the Unem assembly. “We are saying in every possible way that European bureaucracy is a burden, it is a weight. It must stop. Really, enough now.” “We keep seeing this tug-of-war to still try to negotiate,” he continued. “I have to say one thing: we are fed up with negotiations, we are really tired of them. We need industry to be at the center, because in political bargaining for political votes, we are a bit tired.”
