Rome: Former Mayor Alemanno to be released from prison on June 24

Rome, June 11.(LaPresse) – Gianni Alemanno will leave Rome’s Rebibbia prison on June 24th. “We are very happy with the result, but we are not surprised at all. The complaint was completely inconsistent on the part of the Authority and we had no doubt that it would end this way given that it was a spite towards Alemanno,” explains defense attorney Edoardo Albertario. The former mayor has been in prison since the evening of December 31, 2024, after the alternative measure to holding a 22-month prison sentence after his final conviction was rejected on charges of illicit influence peddling in one of the strands of the “Middle World” investigation.
