Rome, April 21 (LaPresse) – Granting neutral status to the territories surrounding the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is reportedly one of the options the United States is considering as a condition for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The news was reported by the Wall Street Journal in an article describing how Kyiv is under pressure to respond this week to a series of broad proposals from the Trump administration on how to end the war in Ukraine. The story was also picked up by the Russian news agency Tass on its website, which emphasized that it remains unclear in what form the United States might exercise control over these territories and the plant itself. Zaporizhzhia is the largest nuclear power facility in Europe. Since the end of February 2022, the plant has been under Russian control.
