Rome, 14 June (LaPresse) – NBA basketball star James Harden was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, according to TMZ. The arrest took place in Texas and, according to the authorities, he was found in possession of a gun in his vehicle. The weapon was reportedly clearly visible and was not in a holster. He faces a misdemeanour charge. A spokesperson for the Houston Police Department told TMZ that the man was stopped at 1800 Crawford Street for a traffic offence. He provided his identification and was taken into custody. Harden has been released on bail and his court hearing is scheduled for 22 June. The conditions of his bail prohibit him from possessing firearms, ammunition or other weapons, as well as from using, possessing or consuming alcohol, narcotics, dangerous drugs or marijuana, unless prescribed by a doctor. Furthermore, he will be required to undergo random urine tests.
