Rome, 16 June (LaPresse) – A serious accident occurred shortly after midnight on the Regina del Lago state road on Lake Como, on the border between the municipalities of Brienno and Argegno. For reasons currently under investigation, a car carrying two people left the road and ended up in the lake. A woman managed to get out of the car on her own before it sank and was subsequently admitted to hospital in critical condition. A man travelling with her, however, is missing. Search and rescue operations are underway, involving the fire brigade, the coastguard and the Carabinieri. A helicopter rescue service has also been deployed to the scene to assist with the operations.
