Milan, 16 June (LaPresse) – On 14 June, the Carabinieri from the Erba station, in the province of Como, executed a pre-trial detention order – issued by the investigating magistrate of the Court of Como at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which coordinated the investigation – against a 53-year-old Italian man, believed to be responsible for serious and repeated acts of harassment against his ex-girlfriend. According to the Carabinieri’s reconstruction of events, the man could not accept the end of the relationship and had turned his ex-partner’s life into a nightmare with constant harassment, culminating in the burning of the woman’s car on 8 May. At the time of his arrest and following a body search, the officers found a 20-centimetre-long folding knife and a 28-centimetre-long box cutter on the arrested man. In addition to being charged with stalking, he has also been charged with the unlawful carrying of weapons (a breach of Article 4-bis of Law 110/75). The blades were seized. The arrested man was taken to Como Prison, where he remains in the custody of the judicial authorities.
