Milan, June 18 (LaPresse) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif initially confirmed in a post on X that the ceremony for the formal signing of the Iran–United States agreement was still scheduled for Friday in Switzerland, but later deleted the post on the agreement and republished it without any reference to the Friday ceremony. In the original post, published shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump said he had signed the agreement during a dinner at the Palace of Versailles, Sharif also stated that the agreement “will enter into force with immediate effect and, as a first step, the Islamic Republic of Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz”, adding that Pakistan and co-mediator Qatar would still host an official signing ceremony on Friday in Switzerland. In the new post currently visible on his account, there are no longer any references to the Friday ceremony. The fate of the official signing ceremony initially scheduled for Friday in Switzerland is now uncertain.
