Rome, 20 June (LaPresse) – US Vice-President JD Vance, in an interview with Fox News, stated that there is ‘no evidence’ that ‘the Iranians are closing the Strait of Hormuz’. “It will take some time to clear the mines, though,” he noted. “We have moved 16 million barrels out of the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours alone. That’s practically the same level as before the war began. And this suggests that the Strait is indeed open,” he added. Tehran had previously announced the closure of the Strait in response to what it considers “violations of the Memorandum of Understanding by the United States and Israel” over Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
