The Argentine, seeded number 7 and world number 27, defeated American Brandon Nakashima (2022 ATP Next Gen Finals champion in Milan) 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4 in 2 hours and 41 minutes. The American Paul, seeded number 8, beat Frenchman Ugo Humbert 6-3, 6-3.
