Rome, 21 June (LaPresse) – Fox News’ head of foreign correspondents, Trey Yingst, revealed in a series of posts on X that he had had a conversation with Donald Trump in which the US president told him he had spoken to the Iranians overnight, warning them not to close the Strait of Hormuz. “If you close it, you won’t have a country anymore,” Trump reportedly told Iranian officials. “You won’t even be able to get back to your bloody country.” In the same conversation with the reporter, the tycoon reportedly added that the US could, “if necessary”, take control of the Strait and become its “Guardian Angel”, taking “20 per cent of the oil”.
