Rome, 21 June (LaPresse) – According to a diplomat briefed on the talks, the negotiations currently taking place between US and Iranian officials in Switzerland are focusing on the war in Lebanon, the Strait of Hormuz – a critical chokepoint for nuclear traffic – and Iran’s nuclear arsenal. The diplomat told CNN that the meetings had begun as an “open and very honest dialogue”. The participants – it is explained – are also discussing the structure of the 60-day negotiation period, following the 14-point memorandum of understanding signed last week by Tehran and Washington.
