Rome, 21 June (LaPresse) – The crew of an oil tanker reported being approached by armed men aboard a small boat off the coast of Yemen. The UK Maritime Operations Authority (UKMTO) has announced that five armed individuals aboard a small boat allegedly attempted to board the vessel, 92 km from al-Shihr, forcing the crew to carry out evasive manoeuvres and change course. The ship and its crew – it is explained – are safe and have resumed their journey to their next port of call. The authorities are investigating.
