Rome, 22 June (LaPresse) – “The Lega’s primaries to select the candidate for Mayor of Milan have concluded with an extraordinary success in terms of turnout.” So stated the Lega in a press release. Commenting on the result is Samuele Piscina, Provincial Secretary of the Lega and Milan City Councillor. “The people of Milan have expressed a clear and unequivocal preference for Matteo Salvini and Silvia Sardone, who received the highest number of votes overall,” announced Piscina. “Among the other prominent names that emerged from the citizens’ votes are Morelli, Piscina himself, Verri, Spada, Del Debbio, Albertini, Parodi and Borghi. This shortlist of names, provided the individual candidates accept, will be rightly and proudly put forward to the centre-right coalition for the final, joint selection of Milan’s future mayor.”
