Obbuergen (Switzerland), 22 June (LaPresse) – US Vice-President J.D. Vance has stated that the peace talks with Iran have laid “a solid foundation for a successful final agreement” to end the war that began at the end of February. “The final agreement is the house,” Vance told reporters. “We have laid the foundations. We haven’t built the house yet, but we have laid a solid foundation to achieve a positive outcome for the American people,” he added. The US Vice-President noted that the Iranian delegation had threatened to walk out of the talks, but defended US President Donald Trump’s social media posts which had offended Iranian officials. “What we told the Iranians yesterday is that when you indulge in what we millennials might call ‘trash talk’, you cannot expect the President of the United States not to react and set the record straight,” Vance said.
