Rome, June 23 (LaPresse) – “New national team coach? The essential condition is to immediately see enthusiasm and the conviction of embracing an idea. It must not be done only for money. Of course the financial aspect exists, but if a person starts setting too many limits on schedules or availability, they may be the best in the world but I’m not interested. I need someone committed for at least the next two years. A foreign coach? Never say never.” This was stated to la Repubblica by the new FIGC president Giovanni Malagò. On the hypothesis of Roberto Mancini as coach, the former CONI president said: “I have not spoken with Roberto and there are no vetoes for anyone.” Malagò also spoke about the new technical director: “I would like a former footballer, but I have not spoken with anyone about specific roles. I am in touch with Maldini, I met Del Piero, I hugged Baggio and I spoke with Buffon, but nothing is decided.”
