Jerusalem, June 23. (LaPresse) – Israel’s future depends on the continued strengthening of national and military power. This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting last week with participants in a reserve officers’ training course at the Migdal Oz kibbutz in Gush Etzion. “Our situation in 30 years will depend on our strength. Therefore, what we are doing now is building great strength,” he explained, as reported by Israel National News. The Prime Minister stressed the need to increase Israel’s independence in defense matters, particularly regarding ammunition. “I want weapons independence. I deeply appreciate the support we have received, and which I also helped secure over the years, from our American friends. Today I say: we need our own independent weapons network. We must produce our own weapons,” he stressed. According to Netanyahu, Israel must continue expanding the production, development and training capabilities of the Defense Forces, “to free ourselves from dependence, to build more and more power, to integrate more and more technology and to train more and more generations of commanders like you, because that is what will ultimately determine where we will be.”
