Paris (France), 23 June (LaPresse/AP) – France recorded its hottest day ever today. This was reported by the national meteorological agency, which announced that the French national heat index – an average of the temperatures measured at 30 weather stations – reached a new record of 29.8 degrees. The previous record of 29.4 °C dated back to the heatwaves of August 2003 and July 2019. Many individual weather stations also recorded daytime highs of over 40 degrees, Meteo France added.
