Rome, June 24 (LaPresse) – “What we went through in recent days is unacceptable. We will have the opportunity to talk about it, but it is a joy to be here,” said Domenico Centrone, an activist with the Global Sumud Flotilla, upon arriving at Fiumicino Airport after being released yesterday in Libya. “We thank the diplomatic efforts that took place, because we know it was not easy,” he added. “We also thank the comrades who stood by us.” He clarified: “We did not enter eastern Libya. We were stopped a few hundred meters before the checkpoint, so we were captured before entering—they kidnapped us there.” “We did not suffer physical violence; we were treated decently, although we were held in isolation for two days,” he concluded.
