The sequence began at the G7, continued at last week’s European Council, and must continue with the NATO summit in Ankara, then with the coalition of the willing in support of Ukraine,” said French President Emmanuel Macron at a press conference after the E5 summit. “We are strongly committed, we are increasing our investments and our capabilities” in defence. “We are also doing this at the European level, seeking to build common solutions and cooperation that increase our deterrence capacity. The increase in our budgets in recent years is proof of this,” Macron added.
