Milan, 25 June (LaPresse) – “I am closely monitoring developments following the violent earthquake that struck Venezuela. I wish to express my solidarity with Acting President Delcy Rodriguez and Italy’s support for the Venezuelan people at this very difficult time. The Crisis Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the staff of the Italian Embassy and the Consulate General in Caracas are fully operational to ascertain the safety of our compatriots and provide all necessary assistance. Whilst an assessment of the damage and casualties caused by the earthquake is still underway, we stand ready to provide support and will ask the EU to activate the ‘Civil Protection Mechanism’ to coordinate and fund emergency response efforts.” So said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, speaking to X.
