Milan, 25 June (LaPresse) – “Following confirmation of the first imported case of Ebola in Europe since the start of the current epidemic, after a doctor returning to France from the Democratic Republic of the Congo tested positive, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) urges EU Member States to continue strengthening their preparedness.” The ECDC itself states this on its website, emphasising that “the risk of sustained transmission within the EU/European Economic Area is very low, provided that effective measures for the early detection, isolation and treatment of patients are in place”.
