Milan, 27 June (LaPresse) – As regards rail transport, “looking at the figures – and whilst there is always room for improvement – punctuality has increased by 7% compared with June last year, despite the heat and the additional construction works. Italian railways have the highest efficiency rate in Europe. That said – and whilst all delays are obviously a problem – the change in leadership is not linked to delays or service disruptions.” So said the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Matteo Salvini, on the sidelines of ExpoAid 2026 in Rimini, when asked about the change at the top of FS following the departure of CEO Stefano Donnarumma.
