Rome, 30 June (LaPresse) – In the early hours of the morning, in the provinces of Naples (Naples) and Avellino (Avellino), the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Rome (Rome), with the support of the relevant local commands, executed a pre-trial detention order against four individuals: three in prison and one under house arrest. The order was issued by the Preliminary Investigating Judge of the Court of Rome at the request of the Rome District Anti-Mafia Directorate. The suspects are strongly suspected, on various counts, of the offences of possession, carrying in a public place and use of an explosive device, as well as threats and criminal damage, aggravated by having acted as part of a group and in a mafia-style manner. The operation stems from investigations launched by the Carabinieri’s Investigative Units in Rome and Frascati following the bomb attack that took place on the evening of 16 October 2025 in Torvaianica, a hamlet of Pomezia (Rome), targeting the television journalist Sigfrido Ranucci (Rome). On that occasion, a device was detonated in front of the gate to the journalist’s home, destroying two cars and damaging the perimeter wall. The explosion, which took place in an urban residential area, also posed a serious threat to public safety.
