Turin, 30 June (LaPresse) – Tyra Grant has secured her first Grand Slam victory, reaching the second round at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season currently being played on the grass courts of the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The 18-year-old from Rome, ranked 172nd in the WTA, who came through the qualifiers to reach her first Grand Slam main draw, defeated Britain’s Katie Boulter, ranked 60th in the WTA, 6-4, 6-2 in just 66 minutes. On Thursday, in the second round, Grant will face either Australia’s Talia Gibson, ranked 58th in the WTA, or the Czech Marie Bouzkova, ranked 23rd and seeded 21st.
