Turin, 30 June (LaPresse) – Real Madrid are launching the Bastoni operation. The newspaper ‘As’ is certain of this, reporting that the Blancos are continuing to work on strengthening their squad – particularly the defence – for next season. Following the signings of Konaté, Cucurella and Dumfries, the plan is to complete the defence by signing another centre-back. The target is Alessandro Bastoni, one of new manager José Mourinho’s top choices. Relations between the two clubs are excellent, as demonstrated by the recent friendly match between the two sides’ legends, and Inter are well aware of Real Madrid’s interest in the Italian international, who is keen to move clubs and was previously in talks with Barcelona – an option that has since fallen through. According to the Spanish press, the deal could be finalised for a fee of around 60 million euros.
