Rome, 2 July (LaPresse) – Sigfrido Ranucci has been interviewed by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of the investigation into the bomb attack he suffered last October outside his home. The questioning comes two days after the arrest of four alleged perpetrators, believed to be involved in the incident. The presenter of *Report* was interviewed by Chief Prosecutor Francesco Lo Voi and the magistrates from the District Anti-Mafia Directorate in charge of the case. The meeting was also attended by senior officials from the investigative units of the Carabinieri in Rome and Frascati, who carried out the investigation. On leaving the courthouse, Ranucci explained that the hearing had served to reconstruct the context of his professional activities: “We went over some of the history of past investigations, including tensions that arose as a result of those investigations.” When asked about the nature of those tensions, he clarified: “I cannot name names, but these were situations that created a conflict with individuals who were at the centre of the investigations” . Regarding the theory that the real target of the attack might have been him or a presenter on the programme, the journalist noted that “it is clear that the fact it was placed outside my home – I told the magistrates what I thought about this”, without, however, providing conclusive evidence. Ranucci then emphasised that the investigators are examining every possible lead.
