Paris (France), 2 July (LaPresse) – French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has stated that there have been nearly 7,000 fires since the start of the summer season, with around 8,700 hectares already burnt. “The situation is rather tense,” he said. The flames are also spreading in the seaside resort of Canet-en-Roussillon, in the south of France, and have forced the evacuation of 1,500 people from three campsites, as well as destroying hundreds of caravans.
