Turin, July 3 (LaPresse) – Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini have withdrawn from the women’s doubles draw at Wimbledon. In the opening round, the Italian pair—whose best Wimbledon doubles result remains a third-round appearance in 2024—were due to face Mariya Kozyreva and Iryna Shymanovich, who won the WTA 125 title in Antalya earlier this year and reached the semifinals in Nottingham last week. The winners of that match will face either the French duo Elsa Jacquemot and Diane Parry or the pairing of Czech player Linda Nosková and Slovakia’s Rebecca Šramková in the second round. Errani and Paolini have won nine titles together, including the Olympic gold medal at Paris 2024, from 13 finals played. Their most recent final came at Indian Wells, which remains their only final of the season.
