Rome, 3 July (LaPresse) – “As a son of this great country, founded by courageous men and women who dreamed of freedom and a better life for themselves and their children, I join you in invoking God’s blessing on America’s future, so that the noble ideals enshrined at the beginning of the Declaration of Independence may continue to guide the nation’s prosperity in unity, justice and peace.” Pope Leo XIV made these remarks upon receiving the Liberty Medal from the National Constitutional Centre, an award presented in the United States of America to those who have distinguished themselves in the promotion of freedom.
