Electoral law, Schlein: “It is inadmissible; the right is obsessed with power”

Milan, 4 July (LaPresse) – “Together with the other opposition parties, we will stand firm against this appalling electoral law, which is unacceptable and cannot be amended. It grants such a large majority bonus that whoever wins will come close on their own to the quorum needed to elect the President of the Republic. I believe Meloni made the real objective very clear the other day.” So said the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, in an interview with *La Repubblica*. “The problem is their obsession with power,” says Schlein, “after losing the referendum on justice with 15 million ‘No’ votes, they are trying to establish the premiership through an ordinary law – the electoral law.”
