Milan, Jul. 4 (LaPresse) – A 55-year-old Italian man is hospitalized in serious condition at Niguarda Hospital in Milan after being stabbed apparently without reason by a 22-year-old man who struck him with around twenty knife wounds early this morning outside a bar in Milan. The incident took place on Via Capecelatro at number 77, where at 7:29 a.m. two medical emergency units and an ambulance from AREU were dispatched to provide assistance. According to the reconstruction, the young man, of Gambian origin, was walking down the street when he suddenly pulled out a knife with a 7-centimeter blade and attacked the victim without any apparent motive. The attack was stopped by passersby and bar customers before police patrols from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office of the Police Headquarters arrived and detained the man. The 22-year-old, who had arrived in Milan from outside the Lombardy region, has been arrested.
