Milan, July 4. (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu marked U.S. Independence Day by praising the United States as “the greatest force of freedom the modern world has known” and hailing the U.S.-Israel alliance as one “built not only on common interests, but also on shared values.” In an English-language video message to President Donald Trump and American citizens, Netanyahu said that “freedom is never cheap. It must be continuously purchased. It must be continually defended,” adding that “when America and Israel are united, freedom is stronger.” “The tyrants we face cry ‘Death to America, death to Israel.’ They think freedom is weak. They think democracies are weak. They are wrong about our two democracies,” he added, referring to the slogans chanted during Ali Khamenei’s funeral in Tehran.
