Milan, 5 July (LaPresse) – A mass funeral prayer was held today in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for the country’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla mosque. The ceremony attracted hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom arrived in the early hours of the morning carrying Iranian flags. Three of Khamenei’s sons – Mostafa, Meysam and Masoud – were present, whilst Mojtaba, the former leader’s son and successor, did not appear in the footage released from the ceremony. The prayer was led by Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, senior military and political officials, and religious figures were among those attending the ceremony.
