Milan, 6 July (LaPresse) – “It is of paramount importance that the world – first and foremost the United States and our European partners – emerges from the NATO summit in Ankara with strong decisions in support of our air defence and, consequently, the protection of ordinary citizens’ lives.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote this on X following the latest massive Russian attack which struck Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight, causing 14 deaths and 76 injuries according to the latest figures provided by Zelenskyy himself. “As long as Patriot missiles remain in our allies’ stockpiles, Russia will only feel emboldened to continue destroying residential buildings. The United States and Europe have sufficient strength to put an end to this terror,” Zelensky added. He continued: “Our soldiers operated effectively today in intercepting drones and cruise missiles, but unfortunately not Russian ballistic missiles. And the reason lies in the insufficient supply of interceptor missiles.”
