Kyiv, July 6 (LaPresse) – Following last night’s new large-scale Russian attack, Ukraine has requested that an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council be convened. This was announced on X by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. “Every Russian missile launched against Ukraine carries a message that goes far beyond our borders. It seeks to convince the world that violence can replace the rule of law, that fear is stronger than solidarity, and that brutality has no consequences. Following the second massive Russian missile and drone attack in just a few days, Ukraine is requesting an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council,” he wrote on X. “We call on the presidency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the members of the Council to support Ukraine’s request. Delayed or weak responses cannot stop terror. Only strong, principled and timely action can do so,” Sybiha added. “The international community must remain united to deter the aggressor and continue to promote a comprehensive, just and lasting peace, in line with the Charter of the United Nations,” he concluded.
