Palermo, 6 July (LaPresse) – Sentenced to 5 years and 4 months for the rape of a Finnish tourist in a holiday home in Trapani in July 2022. Antonino Pizzolato, bronze medallist in weightlifting at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, was found guilty of sexual assault by the panel of judges at the Court of Trapani, presided over by Franco Messina. Along with the 30-year-old athlete from the Italian Armed Forces, originally from Castelvetrano in the Trapani area, the other three friends who were with him that night were also sentenced to the same term: Davide Lupo, 31, from Ribera (Agrigento); Claudio Tutino, aged 35, from Cattolica Eraclea (Agrigento); and Stefano Mongiovì, aged 30, also from Ribera.
