Air travel, Urso: ‘Price regulator activated following sudden and abnormal rise in ticket prices’

Rome, 7 July (LaPresse) – “Having learnt of the sudden and unusual rise in airfares coinciding with delays and disruption to rail services on the Rome–Milan and Rome–Venice routes, I have activated the Price Ombudsman at the Mimit and instructed him to launch an investigation and, where appropriate, to immediately report the facts to the Competition Authority (Agcm), in accordance with the Asset Decree we enacted in 2023, to verify the existence of any market-distorting practices on the part of the airlines”. So said the Minister for Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, on the sidelines of the Forbes Italia Healthcare Summit.
