Strega Prize: 80th edition won by Michele Mari with ‘Stone Guests’

Rome, July 9 (LaPresse) – Michele Mari with ‘Stone Guests’ (Einaudi) has won the 80th edition of the Strega Prize. The announcement came at the end of the final evening, held in Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome, in the presence – among others – of the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, and the Mayor of the Capital, Roberto Gualtieri. Mari, already winner of the Strega Giovani Prize, triumphed ahead of ‘Plato, a Love Story’ by Matteo Nucci (Feltrinelli), ‘The Sleepwalker’ by Bianca Pitzorno, ‘The Imbalance’ by Alcide Pierantozzi (Einaudi), ‘Donnaregina’ by Teresa Ciabatti (Mondadori) and ‘Camus’ Widows’ by Elena Rui (L’orma).
