Rome, 9 July (LaPresse) – “We want preferential voting; Fratelli d’Italia has always said it is in favour of preferential voting, and we are working towards our goal of tabling an amendment on preferential voting that is supported by the entire centre-right.” So said Giovanni Donzelli, head of organisation at FdI, during the event organised by the party in Rome entitled ‘Piazza Italia – Riscatto Capitale’. “I would point out that even the centre-left in the committee did not table the amendment on preferential voting, and they are already considering saying, ‘Oh well, if there’s an amendment on preferential voting, you know it’s there; perhaps we won’t enter the Chamber and will call for a secret ballot’. Well, I say there will be an amendment on preferential voting; we’ll see how, when and in what form it is introduced. I challenge the PD, M5S, AVS, Italia Viva, Calenda, and all those who are currently saying ‘shame on the centre-right for not wanting preferential voting’ to enter the Chamber and not call for a secret ballot – and let’s see what happens. Let them show the Italian people how the PD is voting; as for preferential voting, we know how Fratelli d’Italia is voting,” concluded the MP.
