Milan, 10 July (LaPresse) – “Today I raised my game from the baseline; I moved better. I focused on every shot, and mentally I was in a good place. I tried to keep things simple and be unpredictable at key moments, and I managed to do that.” Jannik Sinner said this during a press conference following his victory over Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon semi-final. “I try to go out on court and always give my all; there are days when you manage it and others when you don’t. When you’re playing against Nole, you have to do that – otherwise it ends badly. I felt good today; there’s an important final on Sunday and I’ll try to be the best version of myself,” he added. Looking ahead to Sunday’s final, Sinner went on to say: “Zverev is a tough opponent; he’s serving very well and we’ll give it our best shot. A Grand Slam final is different – there’s more attention and tension. I’m happy, though, to be here and to be playing in another final.”
