Washington (USA), July 11 (LaPresse) – Any agreement with Iran on its nuclear program will require Tehran to hand over its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. This was stated by senior U.S. officials quoted by the Associated Press. However, during a press conference held by telephone, the officials expressed skepticism that Iran would comply with that part of the agreement until it had first fulfilled the terms of the truce and halted further attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Furthermore, if the United States fails to reach an agreement with Iran on the transfer of the nuclear material, Washington would have military options to ensure that it remains permanently buried underground; the officials did not provide details about those options.
