Rome, 12 July (LaPresse) – “Talks between Lebanese, Israeli and American mediators will take place on Tuesday right here in Rome, which is becoming the capital of peace in the Middle East. This is a front to which we are paying very close attention, as it is the closest to us: we have led the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon and, together with the French, we are ready to continue to maintain a presence in the area; we will see whether this will be under a UN or EU mandate.” This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, in an interview with Corriere della Sera. “We will be at the forefront on Lebanon,” emphasised the Foreign Minister, explaining that the talks the day after tomorrow “will take place at the level of ambassadors and mediators”.
