Rome, 12 July (LaPresse) – The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has announced that, following the Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday 11 July 2026, a decision was taken to initiate the procedure for the dismissal of the national team’s head coach, Mr Pape Thiaw, and his entire coaching staff. This decision follows the Senegalese national team’s elimination in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After a careful assessment of the team’s results and prospects, the Executive Committee deemed it necessary to initiate this procedure in the interests of Senegalese football. To this end, the President of the Senegalese Football Federation, Mr Abdoulaye Fall, has been tasked with bringing this decision to the attention of the relevant authority and ensuring that the person concerned is officially notified, in accordance with the statutory, regulatory and contractual provisions in force. Furthermore, the Executive Committee has instructed the President to take all necessary measures to ensure a thorough reorganisation of all national teams.
