Milan, 14 July (LaPresse) – The ever-relentless Tadej Pogacar dominated and won the 10th stage of the Tour de France, the 166.6 km Aurillac–Le Lioran route, further cementing his hold on the yellow jersey as race leader. After controlling the race with his team, the world champion made his move in the final stretch. With 1 km to go to the summit of the final climb up the Col de Pertus, around 15 km from the finish line, Pogacar launched a blistering attack, leaving everyone behind, just as Jonas Vingegaard’s last domestique, Davide Piganzoli of Team Visma Lease a Bike, was trying to set the pace. The Slovenian rider from UAE Team Emirates, pedalling at twice the pace of his rivals, caught the last escapee – Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz of EF Education-EasyPost – in just a few pedal strokes, and crossed the finish line alone once again with his arms raised. For Pogacar, this is his third stage victory in this year’s Tour.
