Milan, 15 July (LaPresse) – Iran “has no choice” but to reach an agreement with the US. This is what US President Donald Trump stated in an interview with Fox News. Trump said that his representatives had been in contact with Iranian officials just an hour before the interview. “They want to reach an agreement, but every time they do, they breach it,” said Trump. When asked what message had been conveyed to Iran, Trump replied: “You’d better reach an agreement. You won’t have anyone left.” Trump did not rule out a ground campaign in Iran. When the interviewer asked him whether he would rule out a ground operation on Kharg Island, the US president replied: “No, I wouldn’t say no if I thought it was appropriate. Sometimes a ground operation is necessary, but we have other people who would carry it out for us; however, we have already struck Kharg Island twice – in fact, three times. I said, ‘Strike everything but the oil’.”
