Milan, 15 July (LaPresse) – Como 1907 “is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached to sign the young Italian attacking midfielder Mattia Liberali until 2031”. Born in 2007, Liberali came through the Milan youth academy before moving to Catanzaro, for whom he made 24 appearances last season, scoring three goals and providing four assists. A technically gifted and creative player, he has represented Italy at every level of the youth national teams, most recently featuring in the Under-19 European Championship. Cesc Fàbregas, manager of Como 1907, commented: “Mattia is a creative player with excellent technical ability and confidence on the ball. He works well in tight spaces, creates chances and contributes in the final third. We believe his qualities are a perfect fit for our system, and we’ll work to help him continue his development.” On his arrival at Como, Liberali said: “It’s a great thrill to be starting my journey at Como. I’m really keen to develop and improve, and in this regard I’ve found we share a lot in common with the club. I’ve also spoken to the manager, and I think his playing philosophy is perfect for me.
