Washington (US), 15 July (LaPresse) – The United States has announced new sanctions against four individuals and three entities “that support the supply of arms on behalf of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)”. In a statement, the State Department said that, “despite the United States’ good-faith efforts to implement the Memorandum of Understanding, Iran has continued to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, including through attacks on commercial vessels. These sanctions will disrupt overseas procurement activities and the financial networks that support the Revolutionary Guards’ military capabilities”.
