Rome, 16 July (LaPresse) – Kidnapping, torture and aggravated robbery. These are the charges facing three young men, one of whom is 25, who were among the ten winners of the Area Sanremo2025 music competition; they have been placed under house arrest, whilst a fourth suspect has been ordered to report daily to the judicial police, as part of a Carabinieri investigation into a violent assault that took place in October 2025 inside a bed and breakfast at 73 Vicolo del Bologna in the Trastevere district of Rome. The motive for the incident was a dispute over a woman. The precautionary measure was ordered by the judge for preliminary investigations, Emanuela Attura, who granted the request made by the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office. According to the account set out in the court order, LaPresse understands that the victim was lured into a room at the B&B under false pretences by one of the suspects. Once inside the room, she was allegedly persuaded to record a voice message, which was immediately forwarded to the woman’s boyfriend. Moments later, three young men reportedly burst into the room and bolted the door, preventing any chance of escape. For around two hours, according to the investigation files, the victim was subjected to a violent assault, involving kicks, punches and blows inflicted with a chain necklace, accompanied by insults and humiliation. Investigators also allege that beer was poured over the victim, forcing her to clean the floor, whilst her mobile phone was taken from her so that its contents could be checked. Once the assault had ended, the attackers also took the 15 euros she had on her. The young woman only managed to get away after about two hours, seizing a favourable moment to open the door and flee.
