The victory marks Darderi’s 19th win of the season on clay and sends him into the 11th ATP semifinal of his career, the 10th on clay. His next opponent will be Paraguay’s Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, world No. 71, who defeated Italy’s Stefano Travaglia in the quarterfinals.
