Rome, July 18 (LaPresse) – Lewis Hamilton took part in qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix as scheduled. The British driver, who crashed towards the end of the final practice session, had damaged his Ferrari, but the mechanics repaired the car in time for him to compete in Q1, where he set the fourth-fastest time. Lando Norris posted the quickest lap with a time of 1:45.865. The McLaren driver finished ahead of the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar. The other Ferrari, driven by Charles Leclerc, was seventh, one place ahead of Kimi Antonelli’s Mercedes. Eliminated before Q2 were Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Pérez, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.
